  • May 27, 2025 – Our paper, “Energy extraction through magnetic reconnection from a Kerr-Newman black hole in perfect fluid dark matter”, is now published in Physics of the Dark Universe. Congratulations to my MAP student co-author, Alex Sidler!
  • April 14, 2025 – Our paper, “Geometrodynamics of a 2D curved surface due to a constrained quantum particle via its gravitational dual: S^2 analytical model calculations”, is published in Physica Scripta. Congratulations to our former MAP student co-authors, Jack Xing and Connor McMillin!
  • March 17, 2025 – Shanshan presented her recent work at APS Global Summit, 2025, on “Energy extraction via magnetic reconnection from a Kerr-Newman BH in Perfect Fluid Dark Matter”, featuring MAP student-coauthor, Alex Sidler.
  • Dec 16-18, 2024 – Shanshan attended the EFTs, Gravity, and Fluid Dynamics workshop held at UIUC.
  • Sep 18, 2024 – Shanshan gave an invited colloquium at WPI.
  • July 29 – Aug 1, 2024 – Shanshan attended the PlasmaPy Summer School at Bryn Mawr College.
  • May 30-31, 2024 – Shanshan gave an invited talk at the ESCIP2024 Workshop: “Teaching scientific computing at the dawn of AI” held at Iowa State University.
  • Apr 3-6, 2024 – Shanshan, her MAP students Alex and Connor, presented their work at the April APS conference.
  • Dec 19, 2023 – Shanshan was awarded the Harris Faculty Fellowship, a competitive funding for pre-tenured faculty at Grinnell. She will be on leave during the 24-25 academic year, supported by this Fellowship.
